Welcome
| We're cyclists and
friends, mainly from the Tulsa, OK formed in 1999 to pool resources each year
to ride RAGBRAI, the Des Moines Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride
Across Iowa. RAGBRAI is the WORLD'S largest multi-day cycling
event with 12-18 THOUSAND cyclists riding every day for 7 days!
The Crude Team was formed to share expenses for transportation
and group necessities...AND to have a GREAT TIME! We've made the
trip multiple times, and we're organized and efficient. This is
NOT a tour company! We're individuals wanting to share what we've
found to be a FANTASTIC experience with others of like mind. Apply

Besides RAGBRAI, every team member participates in various other
rides in the Oklahoma and Texas area, including The Tulsa MS-150
Bike Tour, The Hotter Than Hell Hundred, The Hillier Than Hell 80, The Lance Armstrong Ride
For The Roses Tour, Oklahoma Free Wheel, and many others. 2006 was
our fifth year to participate in the MS-150 Bike Tour in Tulsa as Team Crude.
Most of us had participated in this event with
various other teams, but we now know Team Crude has the drive to
become a viable team and bring new riders to the MS-150. As a matter
of fact Team Crude had the greatest percentage of new team members
in 2003 and was the largest team for the Tulsa MS-150 Bike Tour in
2004. This growth can only be attributed to our existing team
members and their dedication to making Team Crude better.
Why 'Team Crude'
Well, we're headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, known for many
years as one of the oil capitols of the US. Oil in it's natural
state is known as crude. Thus, we decided to be Team Crude. This is also
reflected in our bus paint scheme. It's a bright yellow bus
which just ran through an oil spill and got a big oil splotch on the
front and down the sides. In addition, somebody put a couple of
splotches on the sides. Besides that, we can be a crude
bunch at times. But, that's immaterial.

Our Mission
Until somebody comes up with something better, here's a couple of mottos,
more than mission statements.

Let's ride somewhere and have a beer.
We're partiers with a cycling problem.
If you're not having fun, you must be doing it wrong.
Crude's Your Daddy
Actually, after all the bull is thrown and the fan's been turned off, our
mission is to ride bikes and have a good time. Whatever that entails is just a
part of our overall mission. Whether it's the local Wednesday night ride,
RAGBRAI, the MS-150 or just a Saturday ride with 3 or 4 people, we're going to
try our best to have a good time.
